Tempura is a dish made of seafood (such as fish, shellfish, prawns, etc.) or vegetables that are battered and deeply fried. Tempura can be made of mushrooms, too. Tempura is not an original Japanese food as it was brought there by the Portuguese. However, Japanese has perfected its preparation.
