Fried Rice

Rice is an essential ingredient to Japanese cuisine. You can add flavour to it once it is fried. The fried rice could be used as a delicious appetizer, side dish or as a main course. The rice can be mixed with meat like beef, shrimp, chicken or pork. Alternatively, you can make vegan fried rice if you substitute bacon with vegetable oil. A very common variant is to mix it with fried eggs.


INGREDIENTS:
  • 4 cups of Japanese sticky rice
  • 200 g of bacon
  • 1 green pepper
  • 2 medium-sized carrots
  • 6 pieces of green onion
  • Soy sauce
PREPARATION:
  • Firstly, cook rice according to the instructions in the package.
  • Cut bacon into 2.5 cm pieces and fry in a wok. Then chop green peppers into 1.5 cm2 alternatively to rectangular pieces.
  • Then, chop carrots and green onions into thin circles (use the green part too).
  • Add carrots, green onions and green peppers to the frying-pan and fry until are they are semi soft.
  • Afterwards, add cooked rice and mix up. Finally, flavour it with soy sauce. Serve hot.
